Dice and roll tables
Lorechive can roll for you: single dice and expressions from the dice panel, and roll tables and generators from the Roll Tables page.
The dice panel
Open the dice panel from the tool tray on the right of the Vault. It is available everywhere inside a Vault.
- Select d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 or d100 to add dice, or type an expression such as
2d6+3. - A modifier can be added on its own.
- Roll starts the 3D dice. Select Skip to show the result as text right away.
- Two settings live on the panel: Instant results (always skip the animation) and Sound effects.
Every roll is saved to the roll log at the bottom of the panel, with who rolled, when, and where. You can filter the log by place (Collections, Maps, Roll Tables, Dungeons and so on) and choose how many rolls each page shows.
Roll tables
Open Roll Tables in the Vault’s sidebar. A new Vault already has built-in tables such as Plot hook, Trinket and Weather; filter the list with All, Built-in or Mine.
- Select a table and choose Roll to get an outcome.
- Built-in tables cannot be changed. Choose Duplicate to make your own version, which you can edit.
- Your own tables have a name, a die (d4 to d100, or Custom), a description and one outcome per face. The page shows when all faces have an outcome.
- Create a table with New table.
If you delete a built-in table and want it back, use Restore built-in tables and generators.
Generators
The Generators tab holds built-in generators such as Tavern name and NPC. A generator rolls several components in order and joins them into one result, like a tavern name built from a first and a second word.
Each component rolls either its own die or a saved table. The roll order decides when a component rolls; the list order decides what is shown first. Drag a row, or use the arrows, to change it.
Use Test roll to try a generator while you edit it, or Duplicate a built-in generator to make your own.
